SYRACUSE — Gail L. Benson-Sauers, 62, Huntington, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at her home.
She was born March 7, 1955, in Goshen, to Warren G. and Miriam E. “Pat” Benson.
She was a lifetime Syracuse/Ligonier area resident before moving to Huntington in 2017. She graduated in 1974 from Wawasee High School and attended business college. She was the former owner/operator of Alteration & Repairs by Gail, Syracuse, and formerly employed at Syracuse Dry Cleaners and Tower Ribbon & Awards, Topeka.
She formerly attended the Church of the Brethren, Syracuse, and enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus, Syracuse.
She is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Nathan) Holley, Huntington, and Brianne (Chad Keefer) Sauers, Goshen; two granddaughters; and a brother, Jim (Pam) Benson, Syracuse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janet Patrick; and brother, Carl Benson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Private burial will take place in Syracuse Cemetery at a later date.
