Fun-Loving Pigs

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

As a country boy and a long-time admirer of pigs - "Arnold Ziffle", "Porky and Petunia", "The Three Little" and others - I have observed pigs to be fun-loving partygoers who enjoy a good time and being the center of attention, "hams" you might say. They bask in the limelight, wallow with delight at pool parties, and squeal for refills at dinner events.

Sure, they are intelligent and deserving of respect as the PETA lady wrote ... for all we know they may read "Shakespeare" and "Animal Farm". But pigs love most of all affection and smooches and ear rubs. Let's not deny them that because some lady is obsessed that somewhere, somehow, there are pigs and people having fun that she is missing out on.

So invite a pig to your next party, event, festival or outing. They will have good time. And invite the PETA lady - she needs to get out more often.
