Fred Gene Zolman, 63, of 3137 E. Wooster Road, Pierceton, died at 2:58 p.m. Oct. 21, 2010, in Cromwell.

He was born March 5, 1947, in Warsaw, to Devon Eugene and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Ivy Zolman. On Dec. 8, 2006, he married Jane Cox, who survives.

He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he graduated from Warsaw High School in 1965. In June 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a helicopter technician in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1969. He served as the chairman of board at Zolman Farms, Warsaw, and was a grain buyer for Cromwell Grain. He farmed with his father and brother at Zolman Farms until his sudden passing.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; three sons, John, David and Daniel (and spouse Angela) Zolman, all of Warsaw; a stepson, the Rev. Bryan (and spouse Jaree) Kratzer, Bremen; four grandchildren, Johnathon, Jacob, Mackinzie and Rebekah; his mother, Libby Zolman, Warsaw; a brother, Don (and spouse Darci) Zolman, Pierceton; and a sister, Elaine (and spouse Levon) Wood, Pierceton. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Zolman, who died in 1997; his father, Eugene Zolman, who died in 2005; and a sister, Linda Kunce, who died in 2007.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Victory Rock Church, Ind. 13S, Pierceton, with Pastor Charlie Trout officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
