Focus On The Light Of The World To Bring You Through The Darkness

Posted

When I was in the U.S. Army many years ago, we were taught never to light a match or have a fire at night when we were in the field because the enemy would see us.
It has been determined by scientists that a candle lit in absolute darkness could be seen from 30 miles away. Think of the stars in the dark heavens whose light declares the glory of God for all to see!
There is a sense that darkness seems to be growing in the world. Uncertainty seems to rule the day at times. Darkness comes in many forms including abortion, pornography, violence, sexual trafficking, abuse, divorce and relativism to name a few. But the hope that we have is not in this world but the light that God has given to us.
Isaiah 9:2 says, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
Though it seems that wickedness may be winning, always remember the words of Jesus, ““I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Someone once said, “The deeper the darkness, the easier it is to see a single light.”
Focus on Jesus, my friend, the light of the world will see you through this sinful state and the darkest moments it sometimes brings.
