NAPPANEE - Floyd E. Burkholder, 83, of 13090 N. CR 950W, Nappanee, died at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 3, 2008, in his residence. He was ill with cancer for 1-1/2 years.
He was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Nappanee, to Eli and Elizabeth Borkholder Burkholder. On Oct. 23, 1952, in Middlebury, he married Clara Bontrager, who survives.
A lifetime Nappanee resident, he was a member of Old Order Amish Church and was a retired carpenter.
Also surviving are two daughters, Betty (and spouse Ernie) Schwartz and Jeanne Grove, all of Nappanee; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annabelle Cripe, Goshen, and Lydia Mae Miller, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ernie Schwartz residence at 13106 N. CR 950W, with Bishop Lonnie Slabaugh officiating, assisted by Home Ministries.
Calling is after 6 p.m. today and all day Friday at the Ernie Schwartz residence.
