Five people were injured in a U.S. 30 accident Saturday near Etna Green.
Jason Klotz, 39, Etna Green, was traveling south on CR 875W toward U.S. 30 when he attempted to cross the intersection but was “struck out of nowhere” by a pickup, according to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report. The driver of the truck, Jason Simon, 21, Egg Harbor Township, N.J., was taken to the hospital with an injury to his arm. Alexander Ridger, 25, Chicago, a passenger in Simon’s truck, complained of pain to his neck. Three passengers in Klotz’s truck from Wakarusa also were hurt but had non-life-threatening injuries: Tricia Santos, 29; Tina Bonne, 59; and Joshua Boone, 11. Damage was estimated at $5,000 to $10,000.
