Felony Domestic Battery Charges Filed Against Leesburg Man

A Leesburg man was arrested Wednesday after police allege he hit a woman in front of his son.
John Dean Simpson, 38, of 87 EMS B1A Lane, faces a felony count of domestic battery in the presence of a child and domestic battery causing a moderate bodily injury.
A woman contacted police and said she had been assaulted. She told police Simpson was “extremely intoxicated” and they began to argue.
Police allege Simpson grabbed her by the arms and hit her in the back of the head and in the face, according to court records.
Simpson’s son reportedly begged Simpson to stop hurting the victim.
Simpson is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
