Editor, Times-Union: The absolute idiocy and hypocrisy of it all! Did you hear the loud complaints about Jimmy Fallon's "interview" with Donald Trump? You didn't? Good. It's not worth your effort. Briefly, the infected left complained Fallon did not take the opportunity to press Trump about issues, this and that. What? Fallon's show is entertainment. Entertainment! It's not a Sunday morning analysis show. I saw Trump's appearance, and thought it was indeed entertaining. Fallon earned his wage by treading lightly in a taped appearance of Hillary Clinton as well. What is wrong with this country? If this were the 16th century, poor Mr. Fallon would be in stocks on the courthouse square, ultimately choking to death. Finger pointers, that's what we have become. What's more we point accusatory fingers without the slightest inkling what we're talking about. That's why Mrs. Bill Clinton today blamed the New York, New Jersey and Minnesota terrorist incidents on Mr. Trump's rhetoric. The low information folks will eat it up, lock, stock and barrel, to Hell with real truth, that is his quotes as well as many others are being used for ISIS recruiting. Don't think the folks on the right are fleecy laundry clean either. They, too, jump on anything that casts a shadow of doubt on the other guy. Partner this kind of behavior with the school districts who refuse to allow the United States flag to be displayed on shirts, cars, etc. We might insult someone of another country. The ABC network has prohibited its on-air talking heads from wearing Old Glory, because they want to show "impartiality.” Say what? This is America. The Federal Communications Commission, a United States agency, granted ABC's license to operate in this country. Is ABC no longer an American company? I fly Old Glory in front of my home 24/7. I usually put another "honor" flag of some kind below it honoring police, our military and more. I'll continue to do that until my last breath.
