Editor, Times-Union: When are we going to stand up for ourselves and say: “No more lies! No more cover-ups! No more corruption! No more division!” We need more respect, honesty and unity. We need to expect more from our leaders than promises that are not fulfilled. We will not reach that higher standard if we keep settling for dishonest, disrespectful leaders. We, the people, deserve better. We deserve to have Ben Carson as our president. He has a profound respect for “We, the people.” When you respect someone, you tell them the truth, not just about yourself but about others. You don’t mislead people that you respect, you honor them. You don’t play games and try to manipulate them. You show them respect by putting forth your best effort on their behalf. Folks, that is the kind of leader we have in Dr. Ben Carson. And I for one, will not settle for less. Ben Carson has been more than an influence on America but also a mentor for any young minds. He is a man of integrity, kindness, patience and most importantly, a healer.
