Having lived in Warsaw all my life I know a lot of people. I'm not naive, and don't believe everything I read, especially in the letters to the editor page where it seems you can write whatever you want about someone with no proof.Two stories I have been following are the one about the roofing company that filed bankruptcy and the one about Obama.
Having read everything about the roofing company and discussion with a friend, who works for the court system, these are the facts as I heard and read them. This roofer started the season with an ad that generated a lot of jobs. He ran two crews and was having problems with labor and health problems. After being hospitalized a dozen times and being way behind, he decided to close his business and file bankruptcy. He sent letters out to all of his clients apologizing for bankruptcy and asking to send payment out weekly. That wasn't acceptable to some people and they had charges filed against this individual. Here's a few things that bother me about this story.
1. This all happened in a four- to five-month period.
2. The individual didn't leave town and has lived here 40 years.
3. After filing bankruptcy and closing his business, he still sends letters of obligation to his customers wanting to pay them back in weekly payments. But some people want all or nothing. If everyone had to pay their bills "all or nothing," just think how many people would be out on the streets.
I know a couple of people that wrote letters to the editor about this business, and the things they have done in the recent past I'm surprised they would put their name out there. And the harshness and tone are over the top. If I was this business I would request out-of-county court. But let's get past this story. This individual has wrote wonderful letters in the past, but I'm not surprised he hasn't wrote in with his side, let the jury decide. It shouldn't be tried here.
Well, I was going to write about Obama, and his accomplishments, but I can't think of any.
