Evelyn Lois Good Logan, 83, of Edinburgh, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 2 a.m.   Oct. 31, 2011, in Franklin Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Kimmelton, Quemahoning Township, Somerset County, Pa., to Edwin Ellsworth and Sarah Elizabeth Aultz Good. On March 16, 1952, at Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, Somerset, Pa., she married James Hensley Logan of Trafalgar.
She graduated as salutatorian of her class May 24, 1946, from Somerset Township High School. She then attended William Jennings Bryan College, Dayton, Tenn., on a scholarship. After a two-week honeymoon in Florida, she and James went to live on his farm in Peru. In 1949 she came to Winona Lake and worked for Grace College in the cafeteria and later worked for Emerson Ward, cutting and grinding glass to make novelty mirrors with scripture on them. Through the years she was mainly a homemaker and they lived in many places, not only Indiana and Pennsylvania but also in Georgia. When they moved to Warsaw once again in 1977 she began working for Grace Village Retirement Community as a dessert cook so that her younger daughter could attend Lakeland Christian Academy. After all five of their children were grown they were able to travel together all over the United States and were able to say they had visited all 48 of the continental states. She was an avid reader, which she passed on to her children. She loved to play the organ and piano, loved to sing and to read the Bible. She also enjoyed western music and polkas. She was a devout Christian and had led many to know Christ as their Savior.
Also surviving are two daughters, Joy (and spouse Doug) Burkhart, Seymour, and Kathy (and spouse Randy) Creamer, Silver Lake; two sons, Kit (and spouse Jennifer) Logan, Edinburgh, and Kerry (and spouse Constance), Syracuse, Utah; six grandchildren: Matthew (and spouse Jackie) Logan, Indianapolis; Joshua and Aaron Logan, both of Greenwood; Jennifer Logan and Krysta (and spouse Mark) Creamer Utter, all of Silver Lake; and Tiffany Logan, Edinburgh; and two great-grandsons, Jayden Cutler and Gage Utter, both of Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin James “Bud” Logan; a brother, Edwin W. Good; two sisters, Alice R. King and Sarah E. “Sally” Graham; and a great-grandson, James Tyler Logan.
Calling was Nov. 4 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, followed by a private family service at Greenlawn Cemetery, Franklin.
