Evelyn Glee Schipper, 86, of 269 Meadowview Drive, Blair Ridge, Peru, and formerly of Akron, died at 7:25 a.m. Dec. 6, 2012, in Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. She was born Feb. 10, 1926, in Miami County, to Elmer and Addie Glee Butt Fites. On March 3, 1946, in Miami County, she married Roy E. Schipper, who died Oct. 22, 1995. She was a homemaker, a farmer’s wife and was a school bus driver for more than 25 years for Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. She was a 1944 graduate of Gilead High School. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Roann. Surviving are two daughters, Jane (and spouse David) Haynes, Akron, and Janet (and spouse Mike) Gonsalves, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; two sons, Paul E. (and spouse Diane) Schipper, Kokomo, and Randal E. (and spouse Doris) Schipper, Roann; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Weirick, Mexico, Ind. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Services were at 11 a.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Wayne Balmer officiating.
