NORTH MANCHESTER – Evelyn Corinne Yaney, 105, of North Manchester, and formerly of Fort Wayne, died at 7:40 a.m. April 18, 2012, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
She was born March 3, 1907, in Charleston, Ill., to Harry Sammuel and Cora D. Railing Miller. On Nov. 16, 1936, she married George W. Yaney, who died Dec. 19, 1993.
She was secretary and business manager for Col. Fred Reppert and the Reppert School of Auctioneering, Decatur. She also was a secretary for the subsistence Homesteads, a U.S. Government project in Decatur. She and her husband had owned and operated the Fort Wayne Ceramic Tile Co. before retiring in 1968. She was a member of Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, Fort Wayne. She was a member of Naomi Study Club, Fort Wayne, and the Lincolnshire Women’s Fellowship and a former member of the General Federated Women’s Club and the Fort Wayne Women’s Club.
Surviving are two sons, Donald (and spouse Joan) Yaney, Chandler, Ariz., and David (and spouse Karen) Yaney, Joliet, Ill.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor David Bibbee officiating. A graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Dale Cemetery, Adams County.
Calling is one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
