AKRON – Ernest Paullus, 92, of North Manchester, died Feb. 2, 2012.
He was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Wabash, to Hazel Rife and Ernest Paullus. On Nov. 5, 1950, he married Mildred Yarnelle Paullus, who survives.
He graduated from Wabash High School and Purdue University with a degree in agriculture. He owned and operated Wabash Asphalt Company for many years. Later, he owned an appraisal business and Paullus Real Estate Company in Wabash. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, Wabash, Elks Lodge, Wabash, American Legion, and was a Marine officer during World War II.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jane (and spouse Bruce) Grimes, Claypool, and Lois Smock, Zionsville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Marvin.
A private ceremony for the family will be at Falls Cemetery today, with Pastor Laura Helm officiating.
