Elect McConnell

I am a partisan. Since the time of Ronald Reagan, I have strongly supported the Republican Party at the national level. With the recent polarization of our country, political parties have seemingly changed their focus from debating differences in policy to viciously attacking one another’s personality and character. I do not know how we change that on a national level. On the local level, I believe we can insulate ourselves from that nasty mentality by coming to know our friends and neighbors.

Locally, it should be far easier to discuss policy differences and approaches to governing without being spiteful because we actually have the opportunity to know the people running for political office. Local politicians are much more easily accountable to the voters. We see them at the banks, the grocery or our churches.

I encourage the voters of Kosciusko County to support a brilliant man of integrity and great character. A man who can listen well and ask the right questions. A person who can bring people of differing views together through conversation and patient respect. He is a man of honor who wants the best for Kosciusko. I hope you will support Travis McConnell, a Democrat, for county commissioner. He has the desire and ability to end the contentiousness so prevalent in our politics today.
