SYRACUSE – Eileen Coplin, 86, of Avilla, and formerly of Cromwell, passed away April 30, 2012, in Porvena Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Avilla.
She was born June 13, 1925, in Montpelier, Ohio, to Harry and Leola Johnson Pike. On Oct. 18, 1945, in Detroit, Mich., she married Carl E. Coplin, who died in 1997.
She retired from Monsanto, Ligonier, in 1988 and was a member of North Webster Church of God, where she participated in JOY, a senior group of the church.
Surviving are three daughters: Margaret (and spouse Rex) Beck, Merriam; Betty (and spouse John) Bryant, Fort Wayne; and Nancy (and spouse Larry) Emerick, Kendallville; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Coplin; a granddaughter, Brandy Coplin; and a brother, Howard Pike.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lehman Cemetery, Payne, Ohio, with Pastor Jim Kang officiating.
