MILFORD - Edward Ray Chupp, 89, died at 4:58 p.m. Aug. 13, 2008, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, LaFountain, where he resided.
He was born June 24, 1919, in Emmatown, to Ira J. and Katie Stutzman Chupp. On Nov. 29, 1961, he married Ardith Marie Johnston.
A lifetime area resident, he lived in the same house in Milford for 80 years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving as a medic. He retired as a machinist for Johnson Controls, Goshen. After retirement, he worked at home sharpening saw and mower blades. He was a member of North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee, where he was a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are two brothers, Levi Chupp, Milford, and Ira Chupp, Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister, Rosetta Miller, Milford. He was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at North Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee, with Pastor Bob Gerber officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
