Edington Scores 14 In Wawasee’s Loss To MishawakaMISHAWAKA – A slow start in the first quarter by Wawasee lifted Mishawaka to a win in boys basketball action. The Cavemen won 41-31 Wednesday night.

The Warriors (5-15) scored just two points in the opening period, compared to Mishawaka’s seven. Wawasee was outscored in three of the four quarters of play.

The Caveman (11-7) shot 54 percent from the floor, but only hit 31 percent of their three-point attempts. Wawasee made 44 percent of its field goals and shot 37 percent from behind the arc.

Senior Ryan Edington tallied 14 points and three rebounds to lead the Warriors. Senior Jairus Boyer scored eight points and went 2 of 3 from long range.

Wawasee visits East Noble on Saturday for a nonconference clash. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
