ROCHESTER — Dottie Marie Nixon, 70, South Whitley, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1947, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Robert and Laura Miller. On May 29, 1976, in Rochester, she married Michael J. Nixon; he survives.
Dottie was a graduate of Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, and had a bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She had worked as an accountant for many years at Fox Products, South Whitley.
She attended Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake, for over 30 years and had attended Cornerstone Grace Church, South Whitley. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, playing golf with her husband and enjoyed finding that good bargain.
Survivors include her husband, Michael J. Nixon, South Whitley; children: Tony (wife Stacey) Hausman, Mooresville; Troy Hausman, Lebanon; and Jonathan Nixon, South Whitley; four grandchildren: Brent Hausman, Axel Hausman, Trey Hausman and Jocelyn Nixon; mother, Laura Miller, Frankfort; and sister, Helen “Jeanne” (husband Steve) Howell, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at Christ’s Covenant Church, 2090 E. Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, with Pastors Edward Robertson and Rod Valentine officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 7, at Lakeland Christian Academy, 1093 S. 250E, Winona Lake, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.
