Dorothy Marie Rose, 84, died at 4:25 a.m. May 15, 2012, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
She was born May 17, 1927, in Fairchance, Pa., to George and Irene Gewak Bankovich. On March 17, 1956, in Detroit, Mich., she married Charles L. “Bud” Rose, Winona Lake, who survives.
She moved to Winona Lake from Columbus, Ind., and was an office worker for insurance companies. She enjoyed crewel and embroidery work. She earned her GED when she was 56 years old.
Also surviving are a daughter, Helen (and spouse Don) Fisher, Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Christine (and spouse Ed) Shaheen, Winder, Ga., and Richard (and spouse Charlene) Juliani, Carmichaels, Pa.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Bankovich Jr. and John Bankovich, and a sister, Betty Campbell.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Etna Green Cemetery with Pastor Joe Graham officiating.
