Before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah He wanted Abraham to perform a little errand for him. Abraham was to go and bring Lot and his family out of Sodom before God destroyed it. Abraham asked God that if there were 50 righteous people in Sodom, whether He would destroy them. God said no. Knowing the wickedness of Sodom, Abraham bartered God down to 10 people being righteous before He would destroy it. God agreed that if there were at least 10 righteous He would not destroy it. As everyone knows, there were not 10 righteous people so Sodom, Gomorrah and the surrounding cities were all destroyed.
Easter is supposed to be a time where we remember and reflect upon our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world, paid our penalty by dying a horrific death upon the cross, but more importantly, arose from the dead three days later. Jesus is currently at the right hand of the Father awaiting His imminent return where He will set up His kingdom on earth. The Bible says that Jesus will be returning in the clouds. This Easter and Passover, will you be watching and waiting for His return, or will you be too busy going about doing and celebrating the things of the world? Will there be 10 righteous watching?
