NORTH MANCHESTER - Don "Fred" Rayburn, 77, of North Manchester, died at 4:02 p.m. March 24, 2008, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born June 4, 1930, in Converse, to Dorothy Reynolds Scott. He was adopted by Fred and Emma Rayburn. In February 1951, he married Margaret Oyler, who survives.
He was a production manager at United Technologies, North Manchester, for 27 years, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are a son, Fred (and spouse Erica) Rayburn, Fort Wayne; three daughters: Laura (and spouse Merle) Bucher, Las Cruces, N.M.; and Lucy McFarland (and Roy Carlin) and Jennie (and spouse Mike) Cattron, both of North Manchester; a brother, James Robert Scott, Rushville; three sisters: Joan Sparling, Tennessee; Jeannette Anderson, Kokomo; and Marsha Davey, Arkansas; and seven children, Keith and Karrie Harris, Andrew Snodgrass, Leilani and Nash Rayburn and Molly and Katie Cattron. He was preceded in death by a daughter and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Converse IOOF Cemetery, Converse.
