Editor, Times-Union: Hello. I am a fifth grade student at Harrison Elementary School.
I strongly believe that we should build a dog park in Warsaw. I think this because none of the parks in Warsaw allow dogs. Also, dogs big and small need to run around and learn how to get along with each other so that they don’t fight. Dogs need to get their energy out. Some dog owners don’t have big enough yards, or even yards at all, (like at an apartment building) so they don’t have room to run around. If there was a dog park in Warsaw, then it would help keep dogs healthy and fit. I have a dog myself and I know that she would really enjoy a dog park to “socialize.” She loves to run and play! Don’t all dogs? I just hope that people will believe in this as much as I do.
Dogs aren’t meant to be cooped up too long, or chained up all the time. I think I know how to solve this issue. We can start a bunch of fundraisers to help earn money to buy a dog park. “What kind of fundraisers?” you might ask. Tons of different kinds! Bake sales, car washes, door to door fundraisers, everything! All earnings will go to the dog park!
I know that we can do it! We just have to take the first step.
