I truly enjoy the political process and the election system that we use here not only in Kosciusko County, but the state of Indiana and the United States of America.
What bothers me now is the way politics is being done. No longer are there politicians and their supporting groups working to win an election on issues, but rather we have these right-wing extreme groups engaging in political smear.
Just last week we saw one of those groups send out a mailer in two different house districts, that group "National Association for Gun Rights” does politics the same way Westboro Baptist does protests. Neither of which care who they destroy along the way.
If I was a supporter of that group in any way shape or form I would separate myself immediately.
Politics used to be fun, now you have to worry about what's coming in the mail the next day and how you're going to defend yourself against a half-truth or a complete lie.
The real sad part about this is most of the people who are involved in these groups claim to be God-fearing Christians and yesterday morning after Saturday's mailers went out they were sitting in a church somewhere claiming to profess the holiness of Jesus Christ Himself.
My question is, if Jesus Christ was walking on Earth would you print the same mailers, would you put them on your Facebook page, would you go after people as ruthlessly as you are?
