Dinner With Schultz

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
I am writing in response to Mr. Metgzer’s comments in his recent letter(s) to the editor about our upcoming Kosciusko County Democratic Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in September.

Ed Schultz is a political commentator for MSNBC and Sirius Radio and was contracted to speak at our annual dinner. To set the record straight, his speaking fee minus airfare and miscellaneous expenses will be donated to the American Cancer Society. This has been Mr. Schultz’s plan from the start.

Ed Schultz’s values are aligned with what the Democratic Party stands for, improving the lives of American families and American workers while protecting our elderly and the disabled.  The Kosciusko County Democrats are committed to establishing a viable two-party system for our voters. Our upcoming dinner will assist the party in not only providing a choice, but also the assurances of responsible and compassionate government to provide for the interest of all, but especially those who are most vulnerable. The profits from our event will allow us to open a full-time office in Warsaw. This will give the residents of Kosciusko County better access to our party.

Unfortunately, Mr. Metgzer’s comments were mistakenly made without adequate investigation and or complete knowledge of the situation. I might also suggest to Mr. Metzger that if he ever finds himself in the need to know about the Kosciusko County Democrats, just ask. My number is listed and my cell phone is 574-376-0606. I assure you that we have nothing to hide.
