FORT WAYNE – Dimitrius Michael Kaplanis, 21, Fort Wayne, passed away Dec. 6, 2015. He was born Jan. 13, 1994, to Kostas and Lorena Ray Kaplanis, who survive in Fort Wayne. He was a graduate and wrestler of Wawasee High School. He was an exceptional student and a defensive lineman at the University of Saint Francis, where he studied business administration. He will always be remembered as “the light” in the family that always shined so bright; he will be greatly missed and loved forever. Also surviving are his two brothers, Corey Dean, Northport, Fla., and Jeremy Dean, Fort Wayne; a nephew, Tyler Dean, Fort Wayne; a niece, Alexis M. Dean, Fort Wayne; a maternal grandmother, Gwen Ray, Fort Wayne; and paternal grandparents, Pandelis and Evangelia Kaplanis, Fort Wayne. Services will be at noon Saturday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with Father Andrew Walsh officiating. A Celebration of Life will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St., Fort Wayne, with a Trisagion service starting at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. ***** Memorials to the University of Saint Francis.
