MUNCIE – Diane Kay Beard, 62, passed away Sept. 11, 2015, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 26, 1952. She married Bruce Beard, who preceded her in death. She was surrounded by her loving families of friends; some who knew her since childhood and others who went through school with her children and were still very close to her. She was a lifelong resident of Muncie and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1971. After high school she graduated from Amber’s Beauty School and worked mostly out of her home. Later she worked at Northside Middle School in the cafeteria. She loved spending time at her lake cottage with friends. She loved flea markets and garage sales, soap operas and reality shows. She spent time with friends dining out or playing bingo or cards. Survivors are: a brother, Robert Walburn, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dorabelle “Dodi” Sherwood and Warren Walburn, Muncie; and both of her children, Chad Alan and Anita Kay Beard. She will be deeply missed by her friends and beloved dog, Molly Jo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial is in Yorktown Cemetery.
