NORTH MANCHESTER - Dennis Eugene Warren, 88, North Manchester, died at 8:58 p.m. Aug. 21, 2008, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.

He was born Oct. 23, 1919, in Wabash County, to Ray and Mabel Krieder Warren. On Oct. 17, 1940, in North Manchester, he married Donna Rager, who survives.

He worked for the Erie Railroad and was a salesman for General Electric, Fort Wayne, and Wabash Electric, Fort Wayne and Wabash. He was a driver for the Chester Township Fire Department for 11 years. He was a member of North Manchester First Brethren Church, the builders class at the church, and was a Chester High School graduate. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and bird watching.

Also surviving are three daughters: Ruth Ann Mylin (and spouse Lee) Chrisman, Winona Lake; Jeanne (and spouse Dennis) Dolby, and Janice Fuller, all of North Manchester; a sister, Betty Duffy, North Manchester; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Frank R. Warren; a brother, Ray Warren Jr.; and a sister, Marily Beck.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
