Debra K. Hobbs, 53, of 113 EMS C29A Lane, Warsaw, died at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 17, 2008, in her residence.
She was born June 10, 1955, in Warsaw, to John J. and Leola Miller Plank. On Sept. 8, 1973, in Milford, she married Robert E. Hobbs, who survives.
Formerly of Leesburg, she was a homemaker, a member of Cruisin Hoosiers and volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club. She was compassionate, caring, always willing to help and never knew a stranger. She loved to play games and organize events.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sharla (and spouse Don) Music, Warsaw, and Shondell Hobbs (and Rodney Puterbaugh), Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Kelsie Music and David Heaton, both of Warsaw, and Trenton and Kassidy Puterbaugh, both of Fort Wayne; her mother, Leola Plank, Milford; two sisters, Wanda (and spouse Lee) Olsen, Warsaw, and Karen (and spouse Tom) White, Syracuse; a brother, Jay Plank, Tulsa, Okla.; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Robert Anthony Hobbs.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Rice officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
