Deadline For Turkey Creek Advisory Board Caucus Is Monday

SYRACUSE – As of Friday, only one person, Sylvia Gargett, has applied for the open seat on the Turkey Creek Advisory Board.
A caucus will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Syracuse Town Hall to fill the position.
County Republican Party Chairman Mike Ragan said Friday the position is being vacated by Kim Cates, who was appointed to serve on the Kosciusko County Council.
Declarations of candidacy forms are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be filed with Ragan no later than 72 hours before the beginning of the caucus.
Deadline for filing a declaration of candidacy is 7 p.m. Monday.
A Turkey Creek Township Advisory member will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of members of the voting caucus to fill the vacancy in the office.
Eligible members of the caucus are the Republican precinct committeemen of Turkey Creek Township, Kosciusko County, who have served continuously from 30 days before the date of the start of the caucus.
Members of the caucus, candidates, designated caucus staff, Republican Party officials, duly appointed watchers and members of the news media are eligible to attend the caucus.
Eligible candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
