David Richard Pearl, formerly of Warsaw, passed away March 22, 2018, in Reno, Nev.
David was born in Warsaw on Dec. 11, 1945, to parents William Pearl and Ruth Mosher Pearl. Growing up around Sechrist Lake of North Webster, his mind was fascinated with all the things that nature and the friendships of this area could bring to the life of a young man.
After graduating from North Webster High School in 1964, David attended Ball State University. He found a passion for photography there that led him to R.R. Donnelley & Sons, where he enjoyed working for over 30 years. It was at Donnelley & Sons where his love for science and images allowed him the opportunity to handle production of much of the imaging printed in national publications for the first landings on the moon.
David’s love for looking upward continued in fellowship with astronomy and model aviation groups in Warsaw throughout the years. He was an avid hunter and generally one of the most curious and informed people you could meet.
David married Yuanchun “Kate” Pearl in 2004 at their home in Warsaw, where they lived happily until relocating to Nevada in 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Yuanchun “Kate” Pearl; nephew, Douglas Lee Moon, Boston, Mass.; niece, Kathleen Ruth Moon, Indianapolis; and friends Jill and Dick Lesh, Park City, Utah, and Mary J. Lines, Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mosher Pearl (1974); father, William Pearl (1988); sister, Sharon Lee Pearl Moon (2007); and brother-in-law, Leland Wills Moon Jr. (2006).
