David M. Morgan, 68, Claypool, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Oct. 3, 2018, in his residence.
On Oct. 15, 1949, he was born in Onieda, N.Y., to Donald and Icy Mae Ackley Morgan. On Sept. 11, 1970, he was united in marriage to Roslynn A. “Roz” Wagner in San Antonio, Texas.
He attended Perry (N.Y.) High School and then Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, where he earned a degree in automotive engineering.
He proudly served his country from 1967 to 1971 in the United States Army, where he earned the rank of sergeant E-5 as a medic during the Vietnam Era.
He worked maintenance for Our Father’s House in Warsaw for 20 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
He is survived by his wife, Roslynn “Roz,” and son, David D. Morgan, Claypool. He is further survived by his sisters: Marie Morgan, Warsaw; Gladys Morelli, Rochester, N.Y.; Christine Morgan, Rochester; Debbie Vallejo, Warsaw; Madeline Collins, Rochester; and Peggy Morgan, Warsaw. Also surviving are his granddaughters: Ashley Christine Brandon, Leesburg, and Lindsey Nicole Morgan, Warsaw.
He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Averil Morgan.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Ken Locke officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, with military honors rendered by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
