David L. Goacher

ANDERSON - David L. Goacher, 71, a lifetime Anderson resident, died Dec. 19, 2008, in Community Hospital, Anderson, following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 13, 1937, to Donald C. Sr. and Fairy Clapp Goacher.

He graduated from Anderson High School in 1955 and Butler University in 1959. He continued his education at Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin in sacred music. He was a teacher in the Anderson Schools for 11 years. He later was a manager for Citizens Travel and worked at Citizens Bank. He was an accomplished organist and was the organist at First Presbyterian and Trinity Episcopal churches and Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service. He was a member of Sinfonia, an International Musical Honorary, and Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63.

Surviving are several cousins and a special friend, Jane Ford. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald C. Goacher Jr.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson, with the Revs. Michael Toombs and Richard True officiating. Entombment will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Calling is two hours prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
