Cruz A Hypocrite

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
The question is, is Mr. Cruz a hypocrite? Let’s see the ways.
Take the health care act. Mr. Cruz keeps saying he will get rid of it as soon as he is president. In fact, he was one of those who help shut down the government for 16 days October through November 2013, which ended up costing the taxpayers around $22-23 billion. What he failed to tell the people was both he and his wife have this health insurance.
Let’s do another one. Mr. Cruz says he supports fair trade deals, and is for more good paying jobs. If this is so, then consider this: Before Trump brought these items up during the campaigns, he made several speeches on the senate floor how he supported both the TTP and the TTPA trade deals. It didn’t bother him a bit when told it would cost hundreds of jobs. Fact is, he made a proposal to doubling the present quota of H2B visas. Again, it didn’t faze him a bit about this cost of more jobs.
Here’s another. He says he will work with congress and congress with him as president. Boy, is this a laughing hoot considering the fact he doesn't get along with any one in the senate now, so how is going to do so later?
Over 30 years I have watched both the House and Senate. I never saw such a snub as was given to Mr. Cruz on the floor of the senate. To put it in prospective, Mr. Cruz was acting as he always has showing his big butt when addressing the senate. He had been told several times to cease and decease. So during the immigration debates, Mr. Cruz got up to voice more of his B.S., only this time all the senate members from both parties who were on the senate floor got up from their senate seats tuned to face Mr. Cruz, then as they were all standing abruptly turned and placed their backs to him and stayed this way till Mr. Cruz left the floor. I have to ask you, Mr. Editor, does this sound to you like anyone in congress will work with him?
Here is a follow-up on the Constitution. It is the legislature side that, according to the Constitution, makes the laws. The court is to only address these laws and make a ruling if they are constitutional or not and if not, to say yes or no and to advise congress what needs to be changed. But ever since 1947, the Supreme Court has made their own laws, the court has interjected its self in the subject of religion (as well as other issues ) that under The Constitution is absolutely none of their business. The second amendment on the subject of religion says Congress shall not, this does not say any where that the Court may do so. A very simple one or two amendments to the constitution will solve this issue of the Supreme Court making laws.
