Consistent Scores Lead Warsaw Golfers To WinsLed by some consistent play, Warsaw’s varsity girls golf team scored a pair of 9-hole match wins at Stonehenge Thursday.
Hosting Three Rivers Conference teams Tippecanoe Valley and Wabash, the Lady Tigers carded a four-person score of 192, easily beating Wabash’s 225 and Valley’s 252.
Madelyn Ray led the Lady Tigers with a 47 and was the match medalist, helping her team improve to 7-2 on the season.
Other Warsaw scores included 48s from Izzy Ray and Delaney Wihebrink, Grayson Kilburn’s 49 and Brooklyn Fitzgerald’s 54.
For the Lady Tigers, it was the second consecutive match they had four scores in the 40s.
Makayla Sandbakken led Valley with a 54, while Bethany Johnson shot 62, Jordan Krotke 66 and Kelsey Shafer 70.
Valley fell to 0-7 on the season.
For Wabash, Halle Miller shot 53, while Lindsey Mattern and Bella Carillo finished with a 55 and 56, respectively. Kylie Carmichael rounded out the Lady Apaches’ lineup with a 61.
In JV action, Anna Morgan led Warsaw with a 54, followed by teammates Julie Hildebrand (55), Miriam Hagg (56), Cassidy Good (57) and Valerie Messmore (58).
The Lady Tigers are in action again Saturday when they host the Warsaw Invitational, while Valley will play in the Rochester Invite with fellow area schools Manchester, Wawasee and Whitko.
