GOSHEN – Connie Lee Allen, 83, passed away Dec. 5, 2015, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after battling Alzheimer’s for eight years.  She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Warsaw, to Lowell and Inez Miller Pontius. On Aug. 30, 1953, in Claypool, she married Sylvester “Sil” Allen, who died Dec. 27, 2007.
An impeccable homemaker, she was devoted to her family and grandchildren. She loved music (she was a gifted pianist), reading and studying the Bible. She attended River Oaks Community Church, and supported many local and national ministries.
Surviving are two sons, Todd (and spouse Laury) Allen, Bristol, and Scott (and spouse Kimberly) Allen, Elkhart; a brother-in-law, Jerry Denny; a sister, Bernadean “Deanie” Allen, Warsaw; three granddaughters, Adriana Leigh, Natalie Elizabeth and Bella Michelle; two grandsons, Jude Ryan and Aaron Todd; and two step-grandchildren, Justin and Hailey Gardner. Connie and Deanie married brothers, Sil and Donald. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alberta Denny.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Tilley, River Oaks Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
