Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Editor, Times-Union:
The 27th Annual Coat Drive for Kosciusko County to benefit people in our community was a huge success. We are so fortunate to live in a caring and giving community. Kerlin Motor Company, Inc., in Silver Lake was the Coat Drive collection headquarters. There were 1,295 coats donated and Combined Community Services was very appreciative.
I want to thank all of the co-sponsors: Times-Union for advertising, Kensington Digital Media for advertising, Wildman and Peerless for cleaning all of the coats, Combined Community Services and our Kerlin staff for helping with sorting and counting the coats. Many hands make light work.
A sincere thank you to everyone who donated items. I want to send a special thank you to those folks that purchased new items and those who hand knitted hats and scarves. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing someone will stay warm this winter because we shared something as simple as a coat.
Gratefully,
Valerie Warner
