Cleon Marsh, 81, Warsaw, died at 3:06 p.m. June 13, 2009, en route to Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, from Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Hartford City, to Norval and Eureka Marsh. In 1950, he married Evelyn Rarick.
He graduated from Portland High School in 1945, and served in the Army following his high school graduation. He attended Indiana University for two years, transferring to Ball State University where he met his sweetheart, Evelyn Rarick. He received his teaching degree from Manchester College and his master's degree from the University of Saint Francis. He resided in Warsaw since his marriage to Evelyn in 1950. He began a 36-year teaching career, teaching in Kosciusko County, including Burket, Silver Lake, Etna Green, Pierceton and Whitko, the school he retired from. He was a member of Kosciusko County Retired Teachers, Warsaw Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Mizpah Shrine, Elks and American Legion. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (and spouse Kevin) Plummer and Randa Franklin, all of Warsaw; and a son, Greg (and spouse Ann) Marsh, Portage. He was the loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Lamar Ines officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
