SYRACUSE — Christopher J. "Chris" Pezan, 23, Pierceton, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, as the result of an automobile accident near Pierceton.
He was born Dec. 19, 1994, in Plymouth, to Kimberly L. Pezan.
He graduated in 2013 from Wawasee High School and was in a plumbing apprenticeship program at the Elkhart Area Career Center. He was a United States National Guard veteran. He was employed at Mr. Rooter in Milford for the past 1½ years as an apprentice and formerly worked at Menards in Warsaw.
He formerly lived in Bremen, Florida, Warsaw and Syracuse before moving to Pierceton.
He was a member of the Young’s Long Shot Gun Club.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Jones, Warsaw; grandmother, Carol Pezan, Portage; aunt and uncle, Angelic Pezan, Portage, and Mike (Becky) Pezan, Portage; great-aunts: Donna (Paul) Oldaker, Hobart; Susan (Bill) Lehman, Plymouth; and Linda Law, Portage; cousin, Ashley Pezan; special parents, Mark and Tracy Sumpter, Syracuse; and special brothers, Josh and Jake Sumpter.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. CST Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
