’Tis the season for Jesus Christ to become a political pawn. One church had the baby Jesus behind bars to illustrate the problem of illegal immigrant children behind bars as Obama did, which somehow Democrats don't want to own up to. Mary, Joseph and Jesus were not illegal aliens. They were obeying the Roman government which demanded that everyone go to the home of their ancestry for taxation and census purposes.
The holy trio have in the past been used to illustrate the plight of the homeless. They weren't homeless. Their home was in Nazareth. Jesus had to be born in Bethlehem in order to fulfill Bible prophesy.
At least the Planned Parenthood people don't use the birth of Jesus as a choice Mary had. Yet she wasn't raped by God as some misguided professor contends. If Planned Parenthood had been around during the time of Jesus' birth, it would have recommended that she get an abortion since being an unmarried girl who was pregnant was a disgrace that could have caused her stoning. But an angel announced to her that she would give birth to the Messiah. Thankfully, Joseph was also told this fact and agreed to be the husband of Mary. Giving birth to the Messiah was a miracle since she was a virgin at the time.
There are some misconceptions concerning the holy trio. Joseph didn't have children before Jesus was born because if he was much older than Mary and had traveled to Bethlehem for the taxation, the children would have had to have accompanied him and Mary. The Bible also said Joseph didn't have sex with Mary until after the birth of Jesus. Also, she was not sinless because she praised God her Savior and only sinners need a Savior.
I find it ironic that liberals try to eliminate Jesus Christ from Christmas unless it backs some point they're trying to make. It is not unconstitutional to display the manger scene in the public square or in schools because neither place is a part of Congress, which is not allowed to show a preference for one religion over another. Then again, if the ACLU wanted to say the government had a preference for Christianity, why doesn't it sue the government for being closed on Sunday, the traditional day of worship for Christians?
Whether you like President Trump or not, it is great that he made saying “merry Christmas” acceptable in public. Let's celebrate Christmas as the birth of Christ because it's His birthday that is most important. Otherwise there would be no Christmas.
