How many people out there are supposed to get child support, and don't?
I know that divorce or having children and not being married definitely isn't the best situation, and I know frowned upon by many. However, there are circumstances that cannot be tolerated.
The children suffer along with the parents through a tough marriage or relationship and afterwards. The issue is that the non-custodial parents aren't forced to pay child support to their children. They are told to pay X amount of dollars each week - not whenever they feel like it. I know this is frustrating because I'm currently experience difficulties in collecting child support for my children (I'm not allowed to mention how far behind he is, but it is a lot). I know there are so many out there that are behind, $500 and even $20,000 behind. Why is it allowed to go so far? When are our state legislators going to help us?
This isn't to be taken lightly. Our children deserve all the love and financial support from both parents. We are told to not depend on support. Why? We should be able to count on support. Who is going to hold these people accountable?
If you have some stories you would like to share, please e-mail me attired.of.no.support@gmail.com I am mailing/e-mailing all of our legislators in hopes that something can change and maybe I can share some of your e-mails with them. I urge you to contact them. Our children are the ones that matter the most.
I applaud those of you that do make your payments and help raise your children.
