Charles "Butch" Shriver, 88, of Warsaw, died at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 17, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born Aug. 6, 1921, in South Whitley, to Ora and Neva Kissinger Shriver. On July 11, 1942, he married Frances Heckman, who survives.
A lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, he was a salesman at Home Furniture Mart, Warsaw, for more than 30 years. He was a member of Elks and Moose lodges, both in Warsaw, and American Legion Post 49, and a former Optimist member. He served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Also surviving are a son, Rick Shriver, Warsaw; a daughter, Debbie (and spouse Bob) Sharp, Nappanee; and three grandchildren: Kimberly Shriver, Fishers; Joshua (and spouse Ngoc) Sharp, Goshen; and Jason (and spouse Jennifer) Begley, Gilbert, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jodi Shriver.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Tom Schiefer officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
