Combined Community Services announced Christie Borzeniatow as the new director of emergency assistance.
Borzeniatow replaces Peggi Lisenbee Wright, who retired Aug. 16.
Borzeniatow grew up in and around the Warsaw area, graduating from Warsaw Community High School, and earning her degree in human services from Ivy Tech.
She recently was accepted into the Grace Opportunities for Adult Learners program through Grace College to complete her Bachelor of Science in human services and will begin classes in January. She is also a member of Warsaw Missionary Church and of Altrusa International of Warsaw.
Borzeniatow came to CCS as an intern in August 2009, and has been with the organization ever since.
Her faith, passion for helping others, and desire to make a difference in the community led her to work and grow at CCS over the years, according to a news release from CCS.
She has experience in both the emergency assistance department working as the emergency assistance coordinator after her internship, and the self-sufficiency department, working as a case manager and certified family development specialist for the past five years.
She said, “I am so excited and blessed to be in this new role. I am looking forward to serving God, CCS and our community in a new and impactful way.”
To contact Borzeniatow about emergency assistance programs or upcoming CCS events, reach her at cborzeniatow@combinedcommunityservices.org or 574-269-6019, ext. 222.
CCS provides comfort, hope and resources for neighbors in need, the release states. CCS works with people to stabilize their situation through its emergency assistance and continues the path toward independency by working with them to set and meet sustainable long-term goals through its economic self-sufficiency programs.
