SYRACUSE – Carolyn E. Bohnstedt, 79, Milford, passed away at 12:15 a.m. July 7, 2016, at her home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Pierceton, to Russell Leroy and Mary Jean Meredith Barnhart. On Dec. 24, 1954, in Pierceton, she married Richard G. “Dick” Bohnstedt, who survives in Milford.
She graduated in 1955 from Pierceton High School and lived most of her life in Pierceton and the Larwill area before moving to Milford in 1974. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Lamplight Restaurant, Pierceton, and 6 and 15 Restaurant, New Paris. She formerly attended the Mt. Tabor Church of God, Nappanee. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, collecting state quarters and stamps and loved cats.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debra (and spouse Gary) Hill, Milford, and Sharon (and spouse Ben) Reed, Greentown; a son, Dan (and spouse Shawn) Bohnstedt, Milford; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (and spouse Janet) Barnhart, Avilla. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeffrey Bohnstedt; and a sister, Rosalie Hartman.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Ross Osborne, the Trier Ridge Community Church of God, Fort Wayne, officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.
