Editor, Times-Union: CAFOs and plans for more are alive and going forth, with a vengeance, in southern Kosciusko County. Anyone living in the area between Ind. 15 and Packerton Road may want to get out while the getting out is good. Greed is the driving force of the people putting in such unpleasant facilities. The area around such buildings is so foul it is not tolerable. Anyone with respiratory problems will see them increased. A five-mile area around the CAFOs will be affected. Property values will nosedive. People will not be able to be outside and enjoy any quality of fresh air. The facilities are a real threat to our water table. The millions of tons of manure that will be spread will leave us all in a cesspool. This is not the time to become complacent about the threat that will engulf all of us. Please take a stand.
