Buckhanon 'Buck' Patton

Posted
BOURBON – Buckhanon “Buck” Patton, 81, Tippecanoe, passed away at 2 a.m. July 17, 2014, in Elkhart Hospice House with his family at his side.
He was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Langley, Ky., to John and Lucinda Ratliff Patton. He was married for three years to Linda Patton, who preceded him in death.
He had been a resident of Tippecanoe with his sister for the past nine months, moving from Argos. He was retired from Kentucky and West Virginia Gas Company as a field man. He loved music and in his spare time played the guitar and sang bluegrass gospel music. He was a very humble man, he never met a stranger and had a handshake to greet you with. He loved the Lord and all his creation: the flowers, the creatures and nature. Anything that involved family and friends, you would find him there. In his lifetime he had been a caretaker for many of his own family members, which he provided as his ministry.
He was blessed to have three sisters and their spouses: Etta (and spouse Donald) Elliott, Tippecanoe; Betty (and spouse Columbus) Moore, Harrod, Ohio; Pauline Gough, Oregon, Ohio; and his brother and his wife, Gene and Earleen Patton of Ohio. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Louise Gunnels and Deadra Patton; and two brothers, Temp and Billy Tom Patton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Robert Rice of Walnut Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial is in Tippecanoe Cemetery.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
