MILFORD – Bruce Rogers Jr., 83, Milford, passed away Sept. 12, 2013, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1929, in Elkhart County, to Bruce Sr. and Mary Fox Rogers. On July 31, 1950, he married Maxine Pease, who survives in Warsaw.
He worked for several years in the mobile home industry and at CTB Inc. in Milford before opening Rogers Sanitation, where he worked until his retirement. He was an avid train memorabilia collector and enjoyed going to farm and steam engine shows. He enjoyed working outside in the garage and could be found at the local coffee shop sitting with the guys sharing stories.
Also surviving are his son, Tim (and spouse Cindy) Rogers, Warsaw; three daughters, Sharon (and spouse Dennis) Heminger and Doris Rogers, all of Elkhart, and Sue (and spouse Doug) Johnson, Milford; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (and spouse Delores) Rogers, Sebring, Fla., and Loyal (and spouse Dorothy) Rogers, New Paris; and two sisters, Mary Matthews, New Paris, and Marjorie Kirkdoffer, Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Bruce and Dale Rogers; and a sister, Dorothy Watkins.
A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, with Pastor Jesse Beer officiating.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
