Bruce Dean Swope, 56, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:21 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1962, in Sunbury, Pa., to Buryl D. “Dean” and Cleda Ann Lawhorn Swope.
He grew up in the South Bend area and graduated in 1980 from Clay High School in South Bend. He formerly worked for Indiana Department of Transportation for 18 ½ years and moved to Warsaw a year ago from North Liberty.
He was an avid fisherman and former hockey player.
He is survived by two daughters: Beatrice Cooper, of Columbus, Ohio, and Sophie Swope of Niles, Mich.; parents Dean and Cleda Swope of Warsaw; sister Christy Swope of Warsaw; and brother, Steven (Kathryn) Swope of Warsaw.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County Chapel, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow and private family burial will take place at a later date.
