COLUMBIA CITY – Brent William Bartol, 43, of Columbia City, died unexpectedly at 2:45 p.m. May 20, 2011, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
He was born May 5, 1968, in Fort Wayne, to William C. and Nancy A. Stoll Bartol.
He graduated from Snider High School in 1987 and attended Ivy Tech Community College, where he studied computer science. He was a service technician and technician manager for office equipment. He attended Columbia City United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his mother, Nancy A.  Bartol, Fort Wayne; his father, William C. Bartol, Warsaw; his fiance, Jennifer York, Columbia City; two sisters, Barbara Gonterman and Karen Anderson, both of Fort Wayne; two sons, Brandon Bartol, Fort Wayne, and Christopher Bartol, Columbia City; two stepdaughters, Leah and Kayla York, both of Columbia City; his grandmother, Ruth Stoll, Fort Wayne; and his mother-in-law, Kathy Klein, Columbia City. He was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne Bartol; a grandmother, Margaret Bartol; and a grandfather, Edgar Stoll.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
