PIERCETON – Bonita E. Collier, 97, Pierceton, died at 9:40 a.m. Dec. 7, 2015, at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.
She was born May 4, 1918, in South Whitley, to Ira Lee and Bertha H. Hossler Brubaker. On Feb. 4, 1939, in Orland, she married Marion T. Collier, who preceded her in death Jan. 24, 2003.
She is a 1936 Pierceton High School graduate. She was a homemaker and worked at Pletcher Food Service, Pierceton. She was a member of Mother’s of World War II, Eel River Christian Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She loved gardening, sewing and playing games – most of all she loved her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (and spouse Don) Boggs, Larwill, and Luann (and spouse Brad) Dunlap, Columbia City; a son, Robert L. (and spouse Sheila) Collier, Larwill; 14 grandchildren and 26 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janet Ann Collier in 1947, and Mary Coy, in 2009; a sister, Marilyn Culbertson; and two brothers, Gordon Brubaker in 1997 and Wilmer Brubaker.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with Pastor Bob Jarboe officiating.
